NOTD - Illamasqua Obsess

Here's my favourite Pink! :)
Illamasquas Nail Varnish Obsess in action!

I will try to post NOTD frequently - I hope I can...

Glittery Purple Look + Static Pigment Swatches and Review

So that's my look for today :)
The last time i did this look i applied MAC fuchsia Glitter on top but it all ended up on my cheeks during the day so i skiped this step - if you have transparent Mascara use it as a base for glitter and it will last forever, but i don't have any so no Fuchsia glitter for me today :)

What I used:
Illamasqua UEC in 130
MAC Select Cover-Up in NW15
Illamasqua PF in 135
Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Disobey to contour
MAC Powder Blush in Dollymix

MAC Foxy Lady Eye Kohl on the entire lid blended upwards and on the lower lashline
MAC Beauty Marked e/s on Top of the Kohl
MAC Fig. 1 e/s in the crease and the lower Lashline
MAC Purple Shower e/s (LE) over Fig. 1
MAC Passionate e/s and Post Haste e/s mixed over the crease and on the lower lashline
MAC Next to Nothing e/s (LE) to highlight
MAC Young Punk MES (LE) in the lid
Illamasqua Static Pigment all over (used with Fix+)
MAC lll in Point Black top lashline and waterline
Illamasqua False Lashes 07

MAC Dervish Lipliner
Illamasqua Liar Lipstick

Static Pigment is actually pretty cool, i know Christine didn't like the packaging ("Oh, and packaging? I think I already lost 10% of the product on my floor and countertop after only opening it twice.") I had no problems with it...sure it's different but if you are careful it's fine, just pull the lid up on one side and it will open easily.
She also used it on top of a paint pot but underneath the eyeshadows and i think that's why she didn't love it, it IS glittery it has to be on top in my opinion.
And the last point where i disagree with her is that it looks similar to MACs Pink Opal pigment - I wouldn't call Static a pigment it's more on the glitter side and still easy to work with and Pink Opal is like an eyeshadow - Static is compared to Pink Opal purple in colour.

I tried to capture Statics awesomeness and kinda failed - but you can still see the difference in colour and in the second photo (i know it's blurry) you can see the different finish even better!

BUT Illamasqua pigments are very expensive and i personally don't think the pigments they offer are special but Static is and it was worth the money.

Anyways, hope you liked the look! :)

Illamasqua Cream Eyeshadow and Lipstick Swatches and Review

From left to right:
Stimulus (Candy Purple)
Outcast (Bright Sunshine Yellow)
Amour (Pale Turquoise)
Suck (Intense Bright Medium Blue)

As you can see Illamasquas Cream Eyeshadows are extremly pigmented and they are very soft and easy to blend. I think they have great potential for layering with eyeshadows or glitter - but there has to be a hitch, right?

So, these babies crease. I used the too faced shadow insurance underneath but it didn't help. Honestly i'm not surprised because of the soft consistency, it simply HAS to crease - they are not as dry as MAC Paint Pots.
I'm not that disappointed since i will use them for my lips or cheeks and for shootings but you will probably think twice before ordering one...

The lipsticks:

From Top to bottom:
Pristine (Pure Black) - Matte
Strip (Pure white) - Matte
Satanic (Purple Blue) - Matte
Trash (Gold) - Shimmer Finish

Faust (It' actually hard to describe...sort of a dark Berry Red) - Matte
Encounter (Classic Brick Red) - Matte Finish
Liar (Petal Pink) - Matte with tiny Glitter
Nubile (Pale milky Pink) - Shimmer Finish

I like the consistency of Illamasquas Lipstick - very creamy, not drying and pretty opaque. Satanic is an exception but i think with a neutral lipliner as a base it will be fine.

Having a Black and a White Lipstick gives you the opportunity to make other lipsticks lighter or darker - and of course you could mix a grey one if you're sad that Illamasqua doesn't offer a shade for their Intense Lipgloss in Liason :)

I tried to make the difference between Liar and Nubile visible (matte with glitter and shimmer) - hope it shows in the photo!

Hope it's helpful!

Illamasqua Nail Varnish Swatches and Review

And here the naillaquers! :)

Shades from left to right:

Harsh (Silver Glitter)- 3 coats
Spartan (Gold and Silver Glitter) - 3 coats
Untold (Red Glitter) - 3 coats
Jan (light dusky Pink)
Obsess (Bright Fuchsia Pink)
Strike (Turquoise Blue - Shimmer Finish)
Muse (Deep Teal Blue)
Hectic (Warm Olive Green) - 3 coats
Verbal (Capuccino Nude)
Wayward (Bright Taxicab Yellow)

(If nothing is stated i applied 2 coats and the finish is Cream)

Harsh, Spartan and Untold are the only 3 Glitter Nailpolish Illamasqua has so far and i love them! :)
You could wear them alone but i prefer to layer them on top of other nailpolishes. Untold looks great over red or black naillaquer - i think i will post NOTD too in future so you will see that for sure! Harsh looks great over every cool toned color and Spartan over every warm toned base, i would pair Harsh with blues and Spartan with oranges or reds e.g
I would say you need 3 coats to make them really visible!

The other shades except Strike have a Cream finish - but there are 2 different ones.
Hectic and Obsess are not as opaque as the other shades, especially Verbal is extremly pigmented and thicker in consistency. If you have a steady hand and can make it look even with one coat, i'd say one coat is enough for most Illamasqua polishes.

The shades are pretty awesome!

Jan is a really nice dusky pink...sort of a colour with an vintage feel to it, it is in fact very similar to Love&Friendship which came out with MAC's Rose Romance LE this year but Love&Friendship is more on the purple side and Jan on the pink side.

Obsess is beyond words, this is a stunnig shade of Pink. I like the colour pink but most pink nailpolishes look the same, when i came across GOSH's Flamingo i thought "that's it" it was bright and unique i got asked a billion times what i'm wearing and besides Obsess it looks SO boring :) i still love Flamingo bt Obsess is my new HG when it comes to Pink nailpolish! :)

Strike is a shimmery Turquoise not boring but nothing special either...hard to discribe, i have a lot of tealish polishes so it is hard to get something that is completely different. My first and only love for Blue/Teal nailpolish is Plasma Blu by MAC which was LE - sadly, when this is empty i'll cry a river...or an ocean, i'm not sure yet...

Muse is actually pretty cool, i love dark polishes and this is a very nice shade of Teal - i'm sure there are similar colour out there but since it's a longlasting laquer and SO opaque i'd say try it if you're looking for a nice Teal polish!

Hectic is a darker olive green, like i said before, this is a quite liquid polish so you need 3 coats - at least i do :) but since i'm used to that from other Brands it's not that bad. I like the colour very much and i was looking for an Olive shade for quite a while now.

Verbal Capuccino is not the most commonly used colour for your nails but i saw it on the runways every now and then for the past 2 years or so and i liked the look :) - if you have dark/very dark skin this will look so stunning!

Wayward is an attention grabbing shade of yellow - nothing else to say :) if you like your nails bold and bright Wayward is worth a look as well as Obsess!

Illamasqua are good quality polishes in unique and stunning shades!
